Design Thinking for Journalists

In this fast-paced and interactive workshop, Juliette Melton and Rachel Derkits-Gelman, user experience researchers at The New York Times, will guide Journalism + Design students through the process of applying human-centered design to the field of journalism and media.

Over the course of this fun and creative day students will gain practical experience in all stages of the human-centered design process, from gathering insights, to brainstorming, to early stage prototyping — all skills that are essential to success in the News, Narrative & Design II class.

Lunch and refreshments will be served.

This class is required for students enrolled in News, Narrative & Design II. We also have a limited number of seats available for Journalism + Design majors and minors. Sign up here.
